Fresh vs. frozen vegetables
For most shoppers, the best vegetable is the one that gets eaten.
Fresh
Strengths: texture, raw uses, seasonal variety.
Watch: spoilage and waste if it sits too long.
Frozen
Strengths: convenience, long storage, easy portions.
Watch: sauces, seasoning, or added sodium in prepared versions.
What matters most
Plain frozen vegetables can be a practical nutrient-dense option. Fresh vegetables can be excellent too. Preparation and what is added often matter more than the freezer aisle itself.
